The "Circus" is arriving in Brooten: Bonanza Valley Days 2023! (UPDATES, VIDEO)

Bonanza Valley Days in Brooten is underway! The circus is underway, but it won't be in full force until later in the afternoon on Friday.

I'll get some updates on BVD posted to this editor's blog post. The BVD Worship in the Park was honestly incredible from my point of view. We had a huge crowd! Typically this has drawn 40 to 50 in recent years, but tonight we had over 70 in attendance!! It was marvelous. This was a superb way to kick of Bonanza Valley Days 2023. I hope to at least get one or two short video clips from the worship posted on this publisher's blog.

Breaking news late Thursday night: the BVD Medallion has been found! It took almost four full days, but Nate Hagen of Brooten was the individual who located it. I'll get more posted on that later. Congratulations to Nate! He will win a $50 gift certificate to the Backyard Burger.

I enjoyed a short visit with BVD Committee Chairman Tom Feldman after worship in the park tonight, and we discussed the multiple activities that are coming this weekend. We are bracing for an overwhelming turnout of people. Honestly, it is a bit daunting! It is a huge challenge to pull off BVD, and we are immensely grateful for the support of everyone who has a part in this huge, huge town celebration.

AND! Here's video of the Worship in the Park:

More to come on Friday morning. We see a forecast of a high of about 75 degrees for Friday and a low chance of rain. This is good for youth baseball! And the garage sales.

Friday evening update: the craft and vendor show has at least 22 on site as of Friday evening. Others can come tomorrow. The chicken BBQ feed is going remarkably well. We have rain on the horizon, and it appears that we'll be seeing that arrive after 8 p.m.
