The Brooten city council will meet in regular session at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 14 at the city hall meeting chambers. As is tradition under Mayor Thor Amundson, the meeting will begin with the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance, which is optional for all guests to partake in. *(Note: all stated times are approximate after 7 p.m., as the flow of the council meeting varies throughout the meetings.)
7 p.m. - Paul Jurek and Dakota Tjaden - test well;
7:15 p.m. - sidewalk repairs / removals for: (1) Dennis Martin at 320 Pleasant Avenue South and (2) Cindy Moreno at 420 Prairie Avenue South;
7:30 p.m. - fire billing payments and FEMA grant updates for the Brooten Fire Department;
7:45 p.m. - May police report
8 p.m. - update and letter from the Belgrade Police joint meeting between Belgrade and Brooten;
8:15 p.m. - building permits for the following: (1) Jeremy Gilbert at Highway 55 commercial lot for a second shop; (2) Brooten Auto at 130 Central Avenue South - secured fence; (3) Joseph Nelson - 310 Pleasant Avenue South, privacy fence; (4) Verizon Wireless - 110 100th Avenue - 189 foot tall monopole tower;
8:30 p.m. - approve attendance for maintenance manager Boyce Fischer (cost of $250) to water and wastewater conference from August 24 to 26 in St. Cloud;
8:45 p.m. - asphalt repair quote - Midwest Asphalt Maintenance, LLC
9 p.m. - request to advertise for seasonal maintenance
9:15 p.m. - RESOLUTION NO. 2021-12, a resolution accepting donations to the city;
9:30 p.m. - approve May minutes and approve bills;
9:45 p.m. - approve interim bills;
10 p.m. - approve transfer of funds from 4M to general fund
10:15 p.m. - maintenance assistant update
10:30 p.m. - "Other" and then adjourn.
