- Today, Governor Walz sent the National Guard, at the request of Minneapolis's mayor. This is the first time in 34 years that the National Guard has been sent out in response to a civil disturbance.

The above photo was uploaded to Twitter at 10:10 p.m. tonight (Thursday) by senior writer Julio Rosas of Http://www.Townhall.com. He added, "Can't believe what I'm seeing the Minneapolis police has ABANDONED the 3rd precinct's building!! Rioters have stormed in the parking lot and are now damaging the building." At about 10:30 p.m., the Townhall reporter took this photo, after the 3rd Precinct building was set on fire.
Julio Rosas stated in another tweet, "I've covered many protests/riots in my short time working in the media and I can say none of them (Charlottesville, D.C., Portland) comes close to what I'm seeing in Minneapolis right now."
*Update at 11 p.m...now more than 500 National Guard members have been activated to quell the rioting in Minneapolis.
