Brooten Pavilion hit by vandals

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 30, the Brooten Pavilion was hit by vandals. The damage was limited to the floor, and city staff is currently assessing how bad the damage is.

Summer reading program

 Great River Regional Library Kicks Off 2021 Summer Reading Program

Get ready to color your world this summer with Great River Regional Library's 2021 Summer Reading Program!

Great River Regional Library (GRRL) will kicked off the annual Summer Reading Program (SRP) on June 7, and it will continue through Saturday, August 7.
Registration can be done in the Beanstack app, visiting griver.beanstack.org, or by visiting your local library during open hours.
The Belgrade library hours are Mondays 9 a.m. to noon, and 2 to 7 p.m.; Wednesdays from 2 to 7 p.m.; Fridays from 2 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Location at 324 Washburn Avenue near the north end of main street; phone number 320-254-8842.

City council agenda: Monday, June 14

The Brooten city council will meet in regular session at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 14 at the city hall meeting chambers. As is tradition under Mayor Thor Amundson, the meeting will begin with the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance, which is optional for all guests to partake in. *(Note: all stated times are approximate after 7 p.m., as the flow of the council meeting varies throughout the meetings.)
